The Harrington on Hold ’em 1, 2 & 3 book series were written by Dan Harrington and Bill Robertie. Dan Harrington is a pro poker player, that has earned over $ 6.6 million during his career and won 2 World Series of Poker bracelets, including the world championship bracelet in 1995.

Co-author Bill Robertie is one of the best backgammon players in the world and has successfully written many excellent books on that game.

The Harrington on Holdem book series is probably the most straight forward, comprehensible and insightful book on No Limit poker tournament strategy (be it multi table tournaments or sit & go’s). The content has been written in such a way that it makes for an easy read and doesn’t require as much studying of complex long term mathematical situations as some other books do.

In Harrington on Holdem, the authors are able to break down complex mathematical situations into digestible parts, by using more easy to understand examples and everyday scenarios. This is why we at PokerHarder would recommend this poker book series to all poker players of any level (expert or novice).

Some experts of the game might expect the books to contain a lot of conservative poker strategy and nothing on playing at the other end of the spectrum. This assumption however isn’t correct; the books are able to address relative merits of various styles, playing against each type of opponent and even choosing one for yourself.

This means you won’t be forced to play a specific playing style or act like a robot in every single situation relying solely on statistical information. The examples in the book give you a good idea how a professional poker player like Dan Harrington thinks in many different types of poker hands and situations, giving you a good foundation of what direction to think in when faced with a tough situation at the poker table.

So if you didn’t already own a copy of Dan Harrington on Holdem, we definitely recommend you better get one now.
